Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! It's a fun day here in the O'Neal household. My boys are super excited about tonight's festivities! This year they are dressed as Marshall and Chase from Paw Patrol. In the scrapbooking realm of Paper Issues we are having a Halloween Round Up using the new Halloween lines in the shop. There's Simple Stories Happy Haunting, Bella Blvd Spooktacular, and Doodlebug Boos & Brews. You can find them all here in the shop along with some extras from last year's lines.

I chose Simple Stories Happy Haunting and had so much fun with it I created two layouts. My first layout uses our free cut file! I added twine to the top of the spider web for added dimension. And the wood grained paper with orange hints is my absolute favorite!

My second layout also uses Happy Haunting. I've been so inspired by the Paper Issues Design Team to think outside of the box when it comes to scrapbooking. The Halloween themed straws sticking out of the top of the photo are fun and whimsical! I just love it. Thanks Ann!

So stop by the Paper Issues blog to see what my fellow team members have cooked up. It's sure to be spooky and creative!

Jen Hadfield Warm & Cozy

Love is in the air here! Especially when I look at these pictures of my boys! They got dressed up to be ring bearers for a beautiful wedding on the most lovely fall day. So I decided to document it with Jen Hadfield's Warm & Cozy line for Pebbles. Today on the Paper Issues blog we are spotlighting this collection and the design team created some amazing layouts!

I used two cut files. The first is from Just Nick and is called Leaf Wreath. The second one is a FREE cut file in the Paper Issues store. Find it here!

You can find the Warm and Cozy line here. My favorite part of this collection is the rose gold thickers. Don't miss those! Hope you feel inspired and are enjoying some beautiful fall weather where you are!xoxo

High Five Product Spotlight

Today, I'm super excited to show you We R Memory Keepers new line High Five! While I love all things pink and girly, I find myself more drawn to scrapbook lines that are boy friendly since I live in a house full of them! High Five is perfect for boys, family, outdoors, travel, camping, ect. Lots of muted greens, blues and yellows, and it also has a lot of great florals too! I've only made one layout so far, but I'm looking forward to doing more very soon!

For this layout I documented, a new set of matching pjs my boys got which just happen to go perfectly along with the raccoon paper (called Mischievous!). I also always love a basic journaling paper. The ephemera and flair buttons are a must too!

My cut file is from Studio Calico. I've used it several times as the word "adventure" often seems to be appropriate for my life. And it works well with High Five.

You can find High Five in the Paper Issues store. Use code Rachel for 20% off your order!

You Knock My Fox Off

Paper Issues has a new challenge this month called You Knock My Fox Off! I just love that title! So for this challenge think fall!

Suggested ideas: Use fox or woodland animal embellishments, create something about the people you love (that's what I did!), have an element hang off the side of your project, Halloween, photos of fall wreaths/doors, etc.

For my layout, I documented my trip to the Grand Canyon with my husband using a great cut file and Shimelle's Go Now Go line. Check it our here

There are so many other great layouts on the blog today too! Take a minute to check them out. You will definitely feel inspired!

Scraplift Sunday 10 16

Happy Sunday to you all! I'm in love with this Scraplift Sunday layout for two reasons. First, the cut file is out of this world! Secondly, I finally got to use Crate Paper's new line called Snow & Cocoa!

So let's talk cut files! This one is from Just Nick which is another one of my favorite places to buy cut files from. Here's a link to the Heart Explosion cut file. All of her files are trendy & fun. I highly recommend her!

Everything I used in this layout is from the Snow and Cocoa line. And I used it all - paper, chipboard stickers, 6x6 pad, puffy stickers, and my favorite pom pom balls! Links to everything in the Paper Issues store included above. The line is bright and whimsical and perfect to brighten any winter layout.

Don't forget to use the code RACHEL when you shop! Have an awesome day!

Roll the Dice Challenge October

I'm back again with another Roll the Dice Challenge. This month is tough! The challenge is SIX photos and only THREE stickers (puffy, chipboard, etc). I used Carta Bella's Beach Day for this layout. I sized the photos to 2x2 inches which made it easy to get all my photos in one layout and not seem like they took over the whole page. I actually really liked this challenge because limiting the stickers caused me to reach into my stash - I found plenty of enamel pieces, scraps and stamps which helped
complete the layout.

Hope you can join us on this challenge! And hop on over to our Facebook group for more inspiration and challenges! You'll love it!

Mix It Up Monday

I'm so excited for this Monday! Mix it Up Monday is one of my new favorite challenges at Paper Issues. Simply because it gets me to try new things I never would do on my own. This month, we were challenged to use a stencil (could be store bought or made from a cutting machine) and then use mixed media to add the stencil to your layout.

I chose to start with white cardstock, a Heidi Swapp mini triangle stencil, and Heidi Swapp Color Shine (spray, mist, ect). I had to play around with it a lot (5 pieces of card stock later to be exact - LOL) but I finally got the look I wanted. For me the Color Shine was to runny aka messy with the stencils; so I ended up using ink pads to get a more clean look which is what I prefer.

Once the background dried, I used Crate Paper's Cool Kid to finish it off. The background paper is Hooray and it/s one of my favorite in the collection. And a strip of four selfies I took with my littlest one and it's perfection!

Thanks for stopping by today! Check out the Paper Issues blog to see how the other ladies rocked Mix It Up Monday!

I used Crate Paper's Cool Kid again. It's colorful, fun, and well, COOL! Find it here! My favorites are the 6x6 pad (perfect for this cut file) and the ephemera.

Paper Issues October Pinspire Me

To me October means cool weather, yummy smells, leaves falling, and of course -  Halloween! I had fun creating this month's Pinspire me layout with this mood board. Even though it still feels like summer here, (with a high of 91 degrees today!) I'm so ready for fall and all the fun it brings.

For my layout, I used my Halloween leftovers from last year. So thankful I saved some! You can find some bits and pieces here. For the background, I cut out bats with my Cricut on the main page and then stamped small bats inside of them! I think it really made the space pop!

As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out my blog. Hop on over to the Paper Issues blog and see what the other ladies have created!

Paper Issues October Sketch

Hello Friends! I hope my blog post finds you having a lovely day! For this month's Paper Issues sketch, I played with Maggie Holmes' Gather collection. It's breathtaking & beautiful especially paired with a few gold sequins and a pretty pink bow. The pastel bird paper is called Kindred and it's my favorite one.

Check out the rest of the Paper Issues' Design Team layouts on the blog today! They are so fabulous! And then join us by creating your own layout with this month's sketch!

Falling in Love with Triangles

Today, I'm back on the Paper Issues blog again to show you another layout I created. This one screams all things fall. There are so many great papers in both the Shimelle Go No Go line and the Pebble's line Warm & Cozy by Jen Hadfield that I wanted to show them off! So here's how I did just that! I took 12 x 12" papers from both collections and cut them down to 6 x 6" squares. I then cut each of those in half diagonally. After that, I cut each triangle in half two more times to get these small triangles.

It's hard to pick, but my favorite papers are the Pebble's Leaf Toss and Pond in the Go Now Go line. Once I had all my papers cut, I laid them all out on the off white card stock to arrange them and get the spacing correct. Think giant puzzle with scrapbooking paper! Then I secured them in place and ta-da! As for the rest of the design, I placed my photo (of the two cutest boys ever!) and embellishments slightly off center. The leaves are awesome! I think it worked well two mix the two lines as they standout and compliment each other at the same time. The leaves from Jen Hadfield are thick chipboard whereas the other leaves are ephemera. The "My Friends" banner is also in the ephemera set as well.

As always, thanks for stopping by to check out my work! It's a joy to create, chat, and share in our Paper Issues world so join us here! If you stop by the Paper Issues store for some of the fall goodies don't forget to check out with code RACHEL for 20% off your purchase. Happy Fall!

Take Me Away Spotlight

Today I'm showing off  the fabulous Take Me Away line by Paige Taylor Evans. This is Paige's second line with Pink Paislee. It's bright, cheery, and packed full of pastels! I used a heart cut file from Studio Calico. Inside the heart I used two papers - Paper 3 and Paper 4 in the Paper Issues store. Around the heart, I added a big title with the Dream Phrase Thickers - one sheet is gold and the others are white. To finish the layout off, I added sequins, enamel dots, and some embellishments from the Wild Heart Accent Thickers.  You can find all of this in the Paper Issues store. There are so many papers to choose from! I love them all! While you are there use code RACHEL for 20% off your purchase!

Also, hop on over and check out today's blog post. The Paper Issues Design Team rocked this collection! You are sure to feel inspired!

Paper Issues Take 5 Tuesday

Hello Tuesday! I'm here today to show you my fun and yummy Take 5 Tuesday layout! When I saw this Amy Tangerine doughnut paper, I knew we were going to have to take a special trip to the doughnut shop! So my boys and I visited Sublime Doughnuts in Atlanta and needless to say they were amazing.

For the layout, I cut out a heart with my Cricut and then cut out small strips of paper and layered them on top of the heart. It adds lots of bright colors to contrast the black and white doughnut paper!

My Take 5 is #3 white, #4 layers, #7 3 patterned papers, #8 arrows, #14 two or more fonts!

I love this whole collection! Check it out here and save 20% off with the code Rachel.
