Happy Monday! Only 1 week til Christmas! I can hardly believe it! I'm definitely in the Christmas spirit but still working on my to do list before the big day arrives. I'm playing along with Round 2 of Paper Issues New Issue: Holiday Happenings! We'd love to see:
- Pages about the December holidays you celebrate, including your decor (lights, tree, menorah, etc.)
- Your favorite holiday gift (either one you received or one you gave).
- What's on your holiday menu? Do you decorate cookies, make gingerbread houses? Do you have a dish you're known for and your family can't live without?
- What types of winter activities do you enjoy?
I had so much fun creating this layout! I was inspired by this beautiful black and white twine from Maggie Holmes Carousel collection. The rest of the layout is Crate Paper FaLaLa. I took several bits of the ephemera and strung them on the twine and then arranged it around the page.
I added a small photo and journaling strips that I typed with the WRMK typewriter! Now play along with us! I know you must have some December activity to document! When you do share it with us here for a chance to win a PI Gift card! XOXO

I'm back with my favorite Christmas layout so far! Today the Working Title challenge is live on the Paper Issues blog and this month is all about Christmas! Just create a layout with a title that has either a Christmas song title or lyrics in it. I used the Crate Paper FaLaLa collection which is perfect for this challenge. My Fa La La La La banner is straight from Deck the Halls! I fell in love with this Snowflakes 12x12 patterned paper and knew immediately that I wanted to create a wintry wonderland layout complete with snowy hills. I used a wavy paper trimmer and cut several strips of white cardstock and layered them to look like snow. Then I added some stickers and ephemera along with my photo and chipboard title. I also used the Under the Tree cut file for my Christmas trees in the background.
Have your heard about our Christmas sale in the Paper Issues store? It just got better! Seriously! Use the code 40ISBETTER to say 40% off your entire order! XOXO

Hi friends! I'm short on time and sanity today (what's new?) so I'm just going to pop on here and share with you some quick details about today's Product Spotlight layout! This Paper Issues' challenge is all things CHRISTMAS! I used Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa! I'm so glad they re-released this collection because I still had a good bit from last year and I was able to purchase a few more things to give my stash plenty of life again.
I especially love that pocket mason jar. I decided to put my photo right inside it. But my favorite part is the cut file I used for my title. You can download the Love Notes free cut file here!

I've got exciting stuff for you this morning! I love Try It Tuesday at Paper Issue's. Each month, I can't wait to see what AJ has come up with for us to try. Well, this month is all about paper strips! Maybe you save even the smallest bits of papers or the thin strips from the bottom of the 12x12 patterned papers? This challenge is all about cleaning out and using up! I can get on board with that.
I had two different pieces of 12x12 patterned papers from the Crate Paper FaLaLa collection that I had used parts of. So I decided the cut the rest of them down into small strips. Then I added them to a piece of white cardstock create a candy cane like background! I used Twinkle and Very Merry!
The background is so stunning I kept the rest of the layout fairly simple - our photo, a few embellishments, and gold string. I used the Thankful for Family cut file and some black cardstock for the title. So this is just one way to use paper strips. You'll find that every member of the DT came up with something totally different! Check out today's blog post here!
And don't forget - we have a really great sale going on at Paper Issues right now! XOXO

Ready to be inspired?! Paper Issues' Pinspire Me Mood Board is festive and dreamy this month! I love the break away from traditional Christmas colors. Pink is always in season right?! It is in my book! Take a look:
First off, I have to recommend the Crate Paper Snow and Cocoa or FaLaLa collection for this board! Perfect color combos. I used FaLaLa and the Scollop Lines cut file for my simple but festive layout.

Can we say happy Friday?! Oh yeah! I'm up with my first American Crafts Sweater Weather layout for today's Free File Friday challenge! For today's challenge, use any of the cut files to create a layout about any of your holiday activities!
I used two Paper Issues cut files. First, I cut out the Polka Dot Wreath. I loved layering the wreath with ephemera, stickers, and lots of enamel dots. In the middle I added a photo and journaling card with more layers. For my title, I used the Thankful for Family cut file. I love that neither of these cut files are specifically holiday themed, but work great for my winter-sweater-loving layout.
If you have a minute, check out all of the challenges in the Paper Issues Friends and Fans Facebook group. December's challenge album is here! Once you complete a challenge share it with us for a chance to win a gift card to the Paper Issues store! Can't wait to see what you make! XOXO

Happy Tuesday! It's time for Paper Issue's Take 5 Tuesday Challenge! Simply choose 5 things from the list below and include them in your layout! I used 2. Gold, 4. Snowflake, 7. Patterned paper, 9. Journaling, and 10. Cardstock. Check it out:
Now let's talk about my layout! This is my first one with Crate Paper FaLaLa! It's my favorite Christmas/winter collection out this year. I love the color combos, ephemera and especially the chipboard stickers. I made this very cool scarf with one of the free cut files in the store - download it here! The title is also from the same cut file! I backed the scarf with several patterned. Then I added my photo, some snowflakes, and my journaling. To finish, I added the tags and buttons and a few sprinkles of mist! So in love with my first layout of the Christmas season!

I'm doing the best I can to find time to scrap in between the craziness of the season. And today's lift is a definite must! We are lifting Elodie. See her original layout here! Her style is awesome and I love how creative she is! I used Pink Paislee Wild Child for my lift! I'm keeping it short and sweet today because Christmas activities are calling my name as I type. Good morning and happy Monday! I am so excited to show you today's Swag Bag layout! This may be my favorite one of all time! I used October's Bag which had lots of Maggie Holmes' Carousel and Dear Lizzy Star Gazer in it. I absolutely adore both of those lines!
The Swag Bags are awesome because they have so many 3x4 cards (great for layering) and loads of embellishments! I always have plenty for several layouts. My favorite part in last month's kits was the hooray pocket (Interactive cards) and lined tag. I didn't get a set of these when they first came out, so I was so happy to snag one in the Swag Bag. This was my inspiration for my layout! I journaled on the tag (you can pull it out to read the whole story) and then I layered all around it - cards, twine, metal pin, and ticket ephemera. The other big statement piece was the huge (seriously) paper clip from Dear Lizzy! You can find it here!
The rest of the DT is on the Paper Issues blog today showcasing some amazing Swag Bag layouts. The best part is each one is completely different and so inspiring. Also, you can find the newest Bag in the Paper Issues shop! Click here to find it! Save 20% with the code RACHEL! XOXO

Hello Free File Friday! I'm playing along with our thankful edition! Simply use any of the Paper Issues cut files to document something you are thankful for! I used Cocoa Vanilla Studio Bohemian Dream and two different cut files - the heart is from the Fall is My Favorite and the title is from the Better Together cut file.

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American scrappy friends! Today at Paper Issues, we are taking time to reflect on all the things we are thankful for with a challenge! We want you to create a project that shows us something (or many things) you are thankful for! I did something I've never done before: I had my boys help me with my scrapbook layout!
I had some Pinkfresh Studio Boys Fort and a little Escape the Ordinary that I wanted to use up. I thought they would be perfect for a boy themed layout. I started by using these awesome alpha stickers for my title. Next, I added the number ephemera from the Boy's Fort collection. Then I asked my boys to come up with five things they are thankful for. My oldest son (he's 7) wrote them down on the white cardstock. The perfectionist in me cringed a little at the crooked writing, but then in a flash I was so happy with the way it turned out. It's a layout I will cherish forever.
I hope that today you too can find time to be thankful and reflect on those things. And then once, the family is gone and the chaos has settled you can create a layout to tell us all about it! XOXO

Hello Monday! I can already tell it's going to be a great week! We've been celebrating and enjoying time with family this past weekend. And almost every day this month we (my boys and I) have taken the time to list off several things we are thankful for. Which goes perfectly with this month's New Issue at Paper Issues called Home Is Where the Heart Is. Suggested ideas include:
- Create a project about your home - your house, a special room inside, renovations, neighborhood, etc.
- Use heart embellishments,
- Document November activities
- Thanksgiving traditions
I knew I wanted to use Cocoa Vanilla Studio because well, it had just arrived on my doorstep and I couldn't wait! It's pretty freaking amazing if you ask me! For my layout, I chose to document photos from our last fall camping trip. We travel a lot but to me home is where ever my boys are. They are my heart and soul!
I kept my layout fairly simple, but used several layers of patterned paper and white cardstock sprayed with purple mist to add depth. My favorite part is the title which matches perfectly with the Issue's title. It's a free cut file in the Paper Issues' store. Find it here!
Thank you for taking a peek at my layout! Find the other DT layout's on today's Paper Issues' blog post! You won't want to miss their inspiration! XOXO

It's time for Try It Tuesday! This month the challenge is to make your own embellishments! If you are used to using a pack of ephemera (my hand is raised high) this might sounds a little ovewhelming at first, but it's really easy. Let me share some ideas!
- make rosettes
- layered tags
- handmade flowers with paper or even ribbon
- use cut files
- make a banner
I decided to make some layered tags with Cocoa Vanilla Studio Bohemian Dreams! I'm so glad I got this collection. It's every bit dreamy and whimsical as it looks. Even with a house full of boys I still find plenty of ways to use a more "girly" collection. To make my tags I actually just used two different size tags from another collection as a pattern and cut them out with scissors. Then I piled on the layers with pattenred papers, ephemera and stickers. It really was that simple!

Happy Monday to you! I'm back with another Paper Issues' challenge - November's Pinspire Me! Mary Ann always creates the most beautiful mood boards each month. This one is no exception!
I added a black and white photo of my son & my dad from our last camping trip in October. Photos like this one are so special! Then I layered it with lots of patterned paper, ephemera, tags and stickers. I love all the layers! I used enamel dots around the sides for a little extra color. The "sweet" title is from one of my favorite set of Thickers ever - Pebbles Girl Squad!
Feeling inspired yet?! It can be anything you see on the board - pictures, colors, words, etc! Create a layout and then share it with us in the Paper Issues Friends & Fans Facebook group for a chance to win a PI giftcard at the end of the month. XOXO!

I'm back with another Halloween layout! That's two days in a row! I've documented all our Halloween fun with Fancy Pants Spellbound. I love this collection so much because it stands out from your typical Halloween collection. The mint and purple together are so perfect. And then my favorite part is that it's white based as opposed to cream. But I know I've said all this before so let's get down to it!
Today's challenge at Paper Issues is Add It Up! Here's how it works: See the list of items below and create a layout with at least 95 points! The number changes from month to month. Some months are lower numbers which typically create a more bare layout and other months have a larger number which create a more busy layout - my personal favorite.
To reach 95 points, I used 3 photos, lots of patterned paper and ephemera. Then I finished off the layout with buttons and enamel dots!
You can check out the rest of the DT layouts on today's Paper Issues blog. They are always so inspiring. Thanks for stopping by! XOXO
