New Issue Monday

Happy Monday to you! I'm playing along with round 2 of Paper Issues new issue. This month is called Put the Petal/Pedal to the Metal/Medal! Catchy huh?! I chose to go with petal and metal. I used Pink Paislee's new Sweet Freedom for my layout. It's just been restocked in the Paper Issues store! There's plenty of gorgeous floral patterns in the collection. I also love the added shine with  the bronze stars and ephemera!

Check out today's blog post to get more inspiration! XOXO

Scraplift Sunday

Happy Easter friends! We've got two awesome layouts for you today. My Swag Bag layout was posted earlier this morning and now here is a look at this week's Scraplift Sunday. Isn't it fabulous?!

We are lifting Cat Martin and one of her layouts from our Spring Crop. See the layout here! I had so much fun creating it. I used Pink Paislee Outfitters for mine. It was perfect for this layout because I had a lot of scrap pieces from my 6x6 pad that worked perfectly for the grids. The grids are 2.25" squares. I added lots of ephemera and puffy stickers, and stitched between all the rows! Hope you feel inspired!

Swag Bag Sunday!

Hello Swag Bag Sunday! I have been looking forward to this day for several weeks! I heart these Swag bags so much and making this layout was so much fun! First, lets take a look at March's Swag bag! Fabulous right?!

So for my layout, I had this idea of cutting several of my favorite 3x4 cards from the swag bag up into 1/2" strips and using them for my background! I had no idea if it would actually work (and look good) so I was nervous to try it but I went for it! I then took all the strips of paper and secured them to white cardstock at a diagonal angle. I love the way it turned out!

I then layered my photos with more cards and added some typed journaling and these fabulous star wood pieces. You can find them here! I did all of this with the swag bag and still have so much left! You must grab April's Swag Bag. They don't last long. When you do use my code RACHEL to save 20% off! XOXO

Scraplift Sunday

Happy Sunday friends! Here's this week's Scraplift Sunday layout! We are lifting Mary-Ann Maldonado! See her original layout here! For my layout, I used a mix of Crate Paper Cool Kid & Amy Tangerine On A Whim! Hope you like! XOXO

Working Title

This month's Working Title challenge is all about flower power! We want you to be inspired by all the budding blossoms of Spring! Here are some suggested ideas:

  • Decorate your thickers with flower ephemera
  • Use flower stickers to form the letters in your title
  • Cut your title from floral pattern paper
  • Stamp a chipboard title with flower stamps
  • Use paper blooms to form your words
I had so many ideas swirling in my head for this layout! I started with my fringe scissors, wavy paper cutter and Pink Paislee's Sweet Freedom collection. I cut two strips each (2.25" in height) of Paper 5 and Paper 12 with my wavy paper cutter. Then I used the fringe scissors on each one. I chose these two papers because the navy and the cream in each paper contrasts perfectly so that you can really see the fringe and wave details. Then I layered them on top of Paper 4 starting from the bottom. For my title I used love this a cut file from The Cut Shoppe in The Love Letters. I used Paper 2 - beautiful floral pattern - from the 6x6 pad to cut out my title. Next, I had stitched around the title.

I used one photo and lots of layers and embellishments to finish the layout. My favorite pieces are from the ephemera and the dimensional stars. You can see all of Sweet Freedom here. Need some for yourself? Use code RACHEL to save 20% off your Paper Issues purchase! XOXO

Cut It Up Saturday

Hi everyone! It's the best Saturday of the month! Time to get out your cutting machine and get to work with a new Paper Issues cut file! We have so many free cut files! You can find them here! Now check out April's new files! Cuteness overload!

For my layout I used My Mind's Eye Palm Beach! I had originally bought it for our upcoming vacation photos, but when I saw this flamingo picture from our recent zoo trip I had to use it! The background paper is from Amy Tangerine's On a Whim collection - Full Bloom. I cut out the "honeycomb" in black cardstock and backed it with the flamingo paper from the 6x6 pad. You can find the 12x12 version here! I also cut out the "Be You" sentiment! My favorite part of it all is the chipboard flowers and palm branches. I added a little extra sparkle with the enamel dots and brads.

Can't get enough? Check out the Paper Issues blog today to see more ways to use these fabulous cut files! XOXO!

April Pinspire Me

Are you ready to be inspired by our beautiful Paper Issues mood board?! April's board is bright and cheerful! As soon as I saw the lollipop in the center with all the colors, I knew that Bella Blvd's Make Your Mark would be perfect for it! I love the tags in this collection! I made a banner at the top of my layout and added lots of tags, gold washi tape, some puffy hearts, and two photos! The background paper is Paint Me Pretty! Like what you see?! Check out the rest of Make Your Mark here!

I'm swooning over all the gold in this collection! It's definitely a must have if you love bright color and gold embossing!

Take 5 Tuesday

Happy Tuesday to you! I created this layout for April's Take 5 Challenge with Paper Issues. I used the new Pink Paislee Sweet Freedom collection! It's everything red, white and blue! It's perfectly patriotic, but great for so much more! I started with the 6x6 pad and cut out twenty-five 2.25" squares from several of my favorite papers. Then I laid them out on white card stock to figure out the pattern and get them evenly spaced. Afterwards, I secured them with tape runner and then hand stitched around each one! Next, I added one photo and framed it with lots of embellishments! I love the ephemera and the dimensional stars! They add so much details to a layout! Here's a close up!

Here's this month's list. I used 3) Color of your choice, 4) Patterned paper, 9) Stars, 10) Layers, and 12) Cardstock. Want to play?! Create a layout with 5 of these things and then share it with us in our Paper Issues Friends and Fans group! XOXO

Scraplift Sunday

Happy Sunday friends! It's the best day of the week! Time to be inspired. This week is extra special because we are lifting the amazing Cassie Box! See her original layout here! Cassie is the owner of Paper Issues - the perfect place to find all your scrapbook needs (and wants!) and the home of the best customer service ever!

For my lift, I used My Mind's Eye Hey Mister! Love this line! Have you seen it yet? It's got lots of navy and grays with touches of copper. My favorites are the 6x6 pad and the brads! Now play along with us and then share your layout in our Paper Issues Facebook group! Can't wait to see what you create! XOXO

Notable Quotable

Hello April! I'm not sure how you got here so quickly, but I'm glad you did! It's time for the Notable Quotable challenge with Paper Issues! This month's quote is "You make me happy when skies are gray." The challenge is to create a layout inspired by part or all of the quote. I choose to make a cheerful layout and use the entire quote as the title! It fit just perfectly on my diagonal design, The thickers are from American Crafts Hazelwood collection. I love this font and the gold shine!

The rest of the layout is created with Bella Blvd's Make Your Mark collection. The diagonal cut 12x12" paper is called Daily Details. My favorite embellishments from the paper pieces are the flowers! The combination or pinks and yellows are stunning.

Sketchy Saturday

Hello Sketchy Saturday! At Paper Issues, we like to start off the first Saturday with a scrapbook sketch. Sketches are great if you are feeling uninspired or if your scrappy mojo left a while ago and hasn't come back! I know I've been there! Here's April's sketch!

I choose to stash-bust my American Crafts Hazelwood collection by One Canoe Two! I used Rosewater and Hazel Gingham for my base papers. I like how the mint green contrasts the large black and white gingham pattern. I decided to add some extra pop by embellishing around each photo with flowers from the ephemera, puffy stickers and also some that I fussy cut from the A side of Hazel Gingham. The title - lovely - is from the chipboard sticker set.

I hope you can join us this month and play along with our sketch challenge! Then share it with us in our Facebook group for a chance to win a PI gift card! XOXO
